Let’s face it. When we get to classes we are not focused (if focused at all).
There are so many distractions and if you are like me and rush to class, you generally miss the first good 15 minutes of a class.
Now most of us study online, we don’t need to rely on notes and can just watch classes in fast forward on youtube.
In June 2018, a survey was conducted by “Learning House” which we can’t take for objective since they are an online course company but the data is here.
Apparently, the big question is to know if it would be possible for a student to take let’s say a year off, and learn online from home.
They evaluated 1500 students which are “seriously considering, currently enrolled or recently graduated” from their online program.
The deal breaker for me is that while 23% earned 60 or more credits that applied to their next program, 15% said they had no credit to transfer.
Other data was:
86% were happy with what they paid for (whatever that means).
67% of the college students that enrolled in the program said they achieved their goals that motivated them to enroll.
34% said they choose online classes because of the price of tuition.
11% said they wanted to learn at home.
59% of all online students reached out to two or three schools for information about online programs before deciding where to apply.
My opinion is that the bottom line is to enroll in a university and learn from recorded classes afterward. But again it all depends on how serious you are.
