Cute Leopard Cubs Reunited with their Mother in Western India

The amazing thing is that the two cubs were found in different places.

For the first one, sugarcane farmers coming back from the fields spotted it (Vadgaon Anand Village next to Junnar).

The second one was next to a different village (Golegaon) where villagers had sighted the leopard cub on the periphery of the sugarcane field. The call came while The “Wildlife SOS rescue” were on their way so they had to split.

The rescue team had a medic with them that confirmed that the cubs were in good health.

So since they understood that the mother would be looking for the cubs, they decided to stick them in boxes and leave them where they had been found. And, of course, put cameras all over the place so we can witness it.

If you are like me wondering why they would do the reunion in this fashion, Dr. Ajay Deshmukh explains:

“Such reunions are of great importance in order to curb conflict situations. If female leopards are unable to locate their cubs, it is natural for them to turn aggressive and pose an immediate threat to humans in close proximity.”

And the part we all agree on:

“It is also immensely rewarding to know that their cubs will now have a chance at a free life in the wild.”

Apparently it is not unusual for farmers to find cubs that like to hide in the dense vegetation.

A year ago, we had a similar video also in a Village in India.

Please don’t forget to share or vote. This is a nice story that needs to be told.

The picture on top of the post  is actually a screenshot from the NewsFlare video.
