Same discussion every year between students about which one of the large corporations to do an internship with. So I actually decided to look at some of the companies to make it easier to compare.
So yes. Google employees get a good salary and work on meaningful projects (if our goal in life is world domination).
The job satisfaction level is very high and the environment is fantastic (not jealous at all).
Did you know they have a “Death benefits” policy… pff…
So according to the employees of Google:
First, you don’t have to pay for food ever and save money. They actually have a number of restaurants inside the Google campus that looks pretty amazing. The restaurants are available to the employees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
One of the Google employees said to the press that the “chocolate mousse” served every day at lunch is his favorite.
To make it even better, they have also free cooking classes. The idea is that it helps teams bond. Is it just me or does it sounds silly?
They have a facebook page!! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kitchen-Sync-Google-Campus/608408125902627
If that was not enough, they have celebrity guests coming to talk about various subjects.
A good example is Ryan Reynolds that went and talked about “Deadpool” in 2016.
According to Google employees, guests are always interesting ones.
And we have the youtube video to prove it:
If you want to look at more videos they also have a youtube channel, that they turned into a podcast (Pff).

After eating and talking, just to be sure the employees won’t actually go and do some work, they have a gym on site with free workout classes.
As we can see from Erik’s video, the view at the offices is actually amazing.
Working out wouldn’t be a workout if it actually didn’t come with a free massage and some kind of “Wellness and Healthcare” package.
And if you are a student and worth it, they may actually reimburse your tuition. (Can’t be true).
You also get a discount at certain places, like museum…
And I am sure there is a ton of other stuff that I didn’t list…
We get the picture…
Next week I am going to look at Apple and see how they match that.
