Vegetarian and health freaks are actually very passionate about curcumin found in the turmeric plant which is the key ingredient of curry powder.
As in my previous post, turmeric contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory components.
Which improves memory and helps people with Alzheimer’s.
Not that I am worried about Alzheimer’s but it helps clear the “amyloid plaques” which apparently are one of the reasons patients with Alzheimer’s have a problem remembering things.
Turmeric also improves our mood and eases depression by boosting serotonin and dopamine. One study found that it actually improves depression symptoms as much as the real antidepressant prescribed by doctors.
Curcumin also helps brain cells grow by boosting the delivery of the brain growth hormone, to slow the brain aging.
