Salmon and Fatty Fish are Good for Brain and Memory

Certain foods contain elements that help boost your senses, awareness and memory.

Since exams are coming, I decided to make posts about the food that are recommended on the health websites.

Fatty fish are actually on top of the list.

Omega-3 ‘fatty’ acids come from fish and our brain needs it to maintain its 60% of fat (yes surprisingly our brain is made of fat).

So trouts, sardines, and salmon should be part of the weekly diet.

The omega-3 helps our brain build its nerve cells, which in turn helps us learn and remember.

It slows the aging of the brain cells and is good against Alzheimer’s disease (not that I am too worried about that right now).

Look at the long term. Eating fish regularly increases the gray matter in the brain.

In case you’re like me and don’t know what grey matter is, it controls the decision making and memory in our brains.

More information on grey matter, you can check wikipedia or the following TED Talk.
